This blog is designed as a step by step tutorial for those that are utilizing our marketing package.

We advise that you read this training manual before one of our representatives trains you or one of your employees in continual optimization.

If one of your employees is trained in continual optimization then we suggest that he/she read this before the date of their training.

Introduction

Many of you that are being trained are not SEO professionals therefore before we begin we must give you an understanding of what was set up for your company in our marketing program.

Our marketing porgram is designed to set up your website in a cyclic marketing strategy If you want to understand what a cyclic marketing strategy is please read the front page our website at http://www.blogsite-marketing.com

Your website has been set up and optimized your company's blogs have also been set up and optimized and your socal networks have been set up and optimized to give you the best opportunity to market your site on the web.

There are five elements that you must update on a continual basis:

Website Content

Blog Site Content

Social Networking Content

Search Engine Content

External Links

Website Content

Content is key:

There is a difference between properly written content for the internet marketing and properly written content for other forms of media.

The first lesson is to learn how to write content for the internet and your readers at the same time. Writing internet content therefore is a double duty.

You must be able to write content that holds the readers attention while at the same time make sure that your site comes up in high rankings.

Writing for Humans
The main focus of the internet is information, and more importantly free information. The more critical information that you can give your client the more information the more viewers to your content you are going to attract.

You want to make sure that all content in your site has one main theme or purpose. If for any reason you need to change themes you need to have another website built for that particular theme or add another domain name for that particular theme and separate it from the other pages of your site.

Your readers will want to be able to find the inforamtion that they are looking for on your site and will also want to be able to remain in that theme. One of the worst problems that can occur is that your reader believes that your site is "scatter brain" and you have different subjects all over the place.

This will create non-interest in your site and they will not consider it full of information.

When writing for humans you want to make sure that you consider your Target Market you want to make sure that you are writing content for them and not for another market.

Writing for Bots
Writing for humans is simple, however writing for search enginges like Google is a totally different animal or insect to tackle.

When writing for spiders and Bots there are a few things that you have to take into account

URL

Title

Description

Keywords

Content Location

Alt Tags

Links

Articles

Comments

URL

If your website was built before Blogiste Marketing optimized your site there is a possiblitly that your url could or could not have had your sites main theme keyword in it. It is very important that your site has the main theme keyword in it. It increases your sites position on search engines. You want to make sure that your website or your companies website has the main theme keyword/s in it's name.

Title

Your title is one of the most important parts of website optimization. The title of your article as well as the title of your website is very important. You want to make sure that when you write an article and upload it to your site or post it to your blog that the title is in the head section. The reason is that when the spiders and/or bots come and look at your site such as the Googlebot or the Yahoo slurp that they find your main theme keyword for your site, blog or article. A lot of times your Title tag is what the google search engines will find you under before they find your description or keyword. However do not depend on this alone you must make sure that every part of your site is optimized correctly.

Meta-Tags
If you are not aware there are many meta-tags as well. We are not going to deal with all meta-tags here however we will deal with the most common those are the description tag and the keyword tag. These two tags are very important and even though they say that these do not have as much power as they did before they still carry weight with the internet sites.

Description meta-tag
The description tag of your site should containa brief description of your site and contain the main keyword that represents the theme of your site. As a matter of fact it should be the first paragraph of your website. This description tag is what you used to find when you would search in google. The information below used to be the description tag. It seems now however that google uses the first paragraph within the body tag vs. the description meta tag however the description meta tag is still believed to be used. Meta tags were the internet marketers best friend during the 90's however with the change in algorithms that has changed over the past 10 years, however the majority of SEO's utilize the description meta tag.

Keyword meta-tag
The keyword meta-tag ofr your site or in your blog or article should contain a list of keywords separated by comma's. Once your site is optimized well will give your company a list of the best keywords that go with the main theme of your site.

We use optimization tools to find the best keywords for your site and then we optimize your site around these words. The strongest word we then use as the main keyword for your sites theme. You are going to have to copy those keywords into every blog and also every article that you write.

These keywords tell the search engine what to look for on your pages and it also tells the search engine what categories your site is centered around. This is used less in the new algorithms however on Google. Google now has a new structure that it uses to utilize the content of your site and linked pages to tell what is the true content of your site. Therefore it is imperative that the content of your site is centered around a main theme. This algorithm was added by Google to stop SEO's from tricking the GoogleBot.

Content
Content is extremely important as stated ealier and as you increase learning in writing Bots and Spiders you will increase your rankings in webpages.

Theme

Theme is extremely important because you must make sure that your website has a definite theme. For instance if your company specialized in hair care all information on that site or blog needs to stay on topic.

If you have a site on Natural products for hair care and a site on Natural Products for the body those need to be two totally separate sites. You cannot have keywords for hair care and then also keywords for natural body products. These are two totally different themes. Though both of them are dealing with natural, they are two distinctly different parts of the body.

Therefore you are going to have a hard time relaying to a Bot or a Spider which one is more pertinant. If you do not relay to the spider which one is more pertinant it will split the two and your rankings go down. You want to make sure that each site is of one theme that way you get the most bang for your buck.

The good part is that you can actually purchase a new domain name for only $10 and that and put the body pages under that domain name. Also as we discussed earlier, domain names are very important and you cannot have both hair care products and body care products in the same domain name. That would be too long for anyone to type and very hard to market. So it is better to stick with one of the two in the beginning and then add a new website for the other line of product, or at least a new domain name therefore the Googlebot would look at those as two different websites. Theme is key, make sure your site has one theme.

Location

Location of keywords within your content is very important and not only that how the content is worded.

Above any article you need to make sure that you use an H1 tag. This is a header tag and you need to place the title of your article here.
Your main theme keyword must always be included in this title

After that the first paragraph of your Site, Blog or Article must have your main theme keyword and all of the keywords that relate to your Site, Article or Blog theme and it must also include the keywords for that page.

If you remember in english class how when you write a 5 paragraph summary you had to write an introductory paragraph and then three content paragraphs and then a concluding paragraph.

The introductory paragraph would summarize the other three paragraphs and then the conclusion would resummarize the three paragraphs and conclude. That is almost that same process that the Googlebot uses in listing your site, however it is more concerened with the introductory paragraph and then it will find where are your keywords sprinkled throughout the rest of the page and make sure that your meta-tag keywords and your page have a certain number of corresponding keywords.

Content Paragraphs

Once you write the introductory paragraph you then need to write the content paragraphs these paragraphs need to have essential key elements. First of all you want to make sure that you have at lease 113 words in each article or more. Really you want to make sure you have at least 500-1000 words on each page of your site, blog article, or other article.

Secondly you want to make sure that you have your keyword in bold at least once in your content. You also want to make sure that your keyword is sprinkled throughout your article.

The rest of your keywords that are in your meta-tag keyword list for that site, blog, or article you need to also sprinkle throughout the site.

After you have done that you need to make sure that your main theme keyword is found near the bottom of your site this comes back into the conclusive paragraph.

Conclusion Paragraph
Your conclusion paragraph needs to your main theme keyword in it. This paragraph should summarize again the beginning of your site, blog or aticle and should also offer your reader the opportunity to go to another part of your site for more information and give them an opportunity to order your product or contact you or the appropriate department for more information.

Alt Tags

For each page of your site, blog , or for each article you want to have at least three pictures and no more than seven. Just to let you know three is fine. Within every image tag you can place what is called an alt tag.

The image tag looks normally like this:

That is the image tag with the alt tag

If you noticed that the image itself does not show because i want you to see that on the first one there are not alt tags on the second one there are alt tags and you see that the keywords are listed there.

When a search engine Bot or spider sees those links then it can read those keywords. Your keyword needs to be in at least three alt tags on your page and not over 7.

You would enter the above alt tags like this:

<xmp></xmp>

Below is the image tag with the alt tag

Make sure that on each page you have at least three images.

links

Links are important to understand and are really basic. You can put keywords in your link tags as well, however this method has been deprecated among professional SEO\'s however if you want to do so we will include how to do such here.

More important that link keywords are making sure your links contain the main subject of your article in it\'s name istelf. In other words if you are doing an article on hair care you need to make sure that portion after the initial slash has hair care in it.

For instance if your site was www.test.com and you were writing an article on haircare then you would have www.test.com/haircare.htm or www.test.com/haircare.php or www.test.com/haircare.asp.

This will help the search engines find these pages when a person types in the phrase hair care. This phrase is designed for this tutorial, however after we have done the initial optimization of your site your keywords are usually much more targeted than this.

As stated before you want to make sure that all of your articles are based around the theme keyword of your site and stem from there.

So for instance if your main keyword theme is Hair Care Products then you would want your article theme to be Hair Care Products Different type of Shampoos.
so your link would be www.test.com/haircareproductsshampoos.htm or .ph etc...

then you would have another one on how to stop dandruff and the link would be www.test.com/haircareproductsstopdandruff.html or .php etc...

This is how you have to think when making links.

The other part of understanding which is very important especially for google are follow and nofollow tags. You will understand this more when we get to the portion of the tutorial that deals with pagerank.

follow tags are tags that tell the Bots these are links that you want them to follow and add to the search engine.

nofollow tags are tags taht tell the Bots these are linksthat you do not want them to follow nor add to the search engine.

In this part of the tutorial it is important for you to understand that you are going to turn on tags that are important for your visitors to see and tags that are not important for visitors to see you are going to turn off.

If you keep that basic thought process in your head and understand that it is Very Very Important you will be on your start to developing good links for search engine optimization.

When we get into Google Pagerank you are going to really understand the importance of follow and nofollow links and what it means to the placement of your webpages throughout your site. For now just remember You only want pages you want on the search engines to have follow links and pages that you dont want on search engine to have nofollow links.

As an example we will use the basic pages and links that are on a webpage

Home | Order | About | Contact | Terms | Privacy

The only links in this list that you want listed in the search engines are Home and Order. Even though in your mind you want your consumer to have your contact information this is not important for the search engines so we would produce our menu constructed as such.

Home | Order | About | a href="/contact.htm" rel="nofollow">Contact | Terms | a href="/privacy.htm" rel="nofollow">Privacy

As you can see the links that we want on the search engines have follow and the ones that we do not have nofollow. Even though this seems like something trivial you need to make sure that you do this. It will really pay off in the long run, even if you do not have a full understanding of SEO and you are not concerned with becoming a SEO professional you really need to make sure that you use follow and nofollow links.

So now that that you have been shown how to make relevent subject links and also follow and nofollow links you are now goign to learn how to place keywords in your links. Remember this has been deprecated by professional SEO\'s however you still might want to use them.

You will use what is called a name element within a a href tag.

Example:

How to Stop Dandruff

here is an example of that what the link would look like live:

How to Stop Dandruff

These links are very good for use in Social Networking however because use can use the name attribute and put your website name as the keyword. We will discuss this in more detail later in this tutorial when we deal with Social Network Optimization

Articles

The purpose of articles are two fold. First they are designed to give your visitors a reason to return and also to increase the amount of information that is on your website.

Secondly they are designed to give the search engines a reason to come back to your site on a regular basis and to increase Pagerank.

Articles must be written to attract search engines, when writing an article you need to utilize the same instructions that are found in website content. An article must be very informative for your clientle and must also be valuable to news sites and blogs visitors that you submit your article to.

Everytime you write an article you are going to have to submit that site to approximately 100 highly specified sites that deal with your main theme. As well as submitting them to all of the social networks that your representative at www.blogsite-marketing.info has set up for your company.

Writing an article is just like writing content for your webpage and the more articles you write utilizing those principles the better you will become at writing content for your webpages. As you begin to evaluate your articles and how they perform on the search engines and which articles get a better response on different sites within your companies industry you are going to get a better understanding of your target market and how to write website content for them.

Search Engines are going to decide how often to come to your site and look for new content based on how often you change the content to that site. It is recommended that you add information to your website on a daily basis. When we optimize your site (if you do not utilize our continual optimization program) you site has been placed in the best position to reach first page results with Google, Yahoo, and Bing ; which are the main search engines.

Again search engine optimization and blogsite marketing is not a one time process, blogsite marketing is a daily practice that you must constantly update. If you are not willing to do this and do not have someone on staff that is designated with the responsibilities of an SEO it is strongly suggessted that you utilize our continual optimization program.

If you do not optimize your site on a daily or at least a weekly basis your rankings will begin to slip down instead of move up. Your website is just like your business and it is important that you update your site.

As a note to let you know when the internet was first being marketed a website was marketed as something you could just put out into the web and customers would be drawn to your site. This is not true and you must really understand that. To have customers constantly come and remain at your site takes a lot of hard work. This is not something that happens overnight and can take 6 months to a year to really see the full effect of the results.

Articles are one of the best ways to leverage the internet and the traffic that is already made by others and bring that traffic to your site while at the same time making the search engines extremely happy with your site and therefore increase your rankings.

You want to make sure that at the beginning of your article, in the middle of your article, and at the end of your article you have links that lead the client and the search engines back to your site.

Here is why:

Search engines will follow your site according to links that are on the page. Meaning that only the links on that page once listed with the search engines will the search engine follow. Content links that flow within the article or <xmp>

</xmp> tags are better accepted by search engines than other links. This goes for both articles and regular blog and website pages.

Secondly your reader is more likely to click on a link while reading the article than when they finish the article. It is important that you lace links throughout the content of your articles. In these articles it is good to use the name tag we spoke of earlier.

Also what type of link do you think we are going to use in our articles, if you said follow links you were right. We want the search engines to follow all of the links in our article pages. When writing an article the only links that you do not want the search engines to follow are external links that do not lead to your page and we will explain why in the Pagerank section of this tutorial.

Some blogs only allow you to leave comments, if you devise your comments wisely you can really take advantage of them. Your want to make sure that you are commenting on blogs that deal exclusively with your industry and that you are can effectively answer the question that is being asked and add value to what was already stated in the article or blog post that you are commenting on.

You need to make sure that follow comments are allowed on the site that you are commenting on before you comment on that site and if so you might want to consider regularly commenting on that blogsite or webpage.

There are a lot of sites out there that only allow nofollow comments on their blogs and you want to make sure this is not the case before you waste time posting to these blogs.

Also some sites allow you to have a signature. Signatures are a good way to market your website and leave your websites name on multiple sites that lead back to your site (inbound links). We will discuss this concept more as we deal with Pagerank.

The more the Bots come across your site the more they are going to respect your site especially if they are on high ranking pages. As we go further through this tutorial you are going to see how important it is to really select the proper sites to link to , place your articles, and comment on.

Comments are very good for leading your viewer to your homepage or other articles that you have written in the past to lead your viewer to your follow pages.

Your comments are designed to increase the number of links to the proper pages of your website, increase the awareness of your website, and keep new and old visitors returning to your site.

The more presence that you have on the web the more your visitors will see your site the more they will begin to trust you and/or your company as an authority on your subject.

Then comes word of mouth and word of mouth marketing cannot be bought.

So if you really love your field and are knowledgeable in your area of expertise the comments are an easy way to share your knowledge while at the same time marketing your site.

Spamming

Is there a such thing as too much of a good thing. When it comes to search engine optimization the answer is an absolute and unequivical yes.

If you add too many links in your page with the same keywords, or if you add too many alt tags with the same keywords in them or if your keyword appears too many times within a page you will be penalized by the search engines. Google is the worst therefore if you make the additional pages of your site and your articles so Google likes them then the rest of the search engines will love your sites.

Even though you sincerely might not try to spam the search engines there are certain signs that will trigger an "alarm" to the search engine companies. Google has a team of programmers that work tirelessly writing algorithms that are designed to detect spam.

What is Spam

You might as yourself the question what is spam. If you were thinking that spam is only when a company emails junk mail to a company then you need to make sure you read the entirety of this tutorial because you have a lot to learn. Search Engine Spamming is when you are purposely trying to get traffic to your site adding items to the background of your site just for search engine optimization and not relevant to content.

Example

There was a time when meta-tags were very important and the search engines would use those exclusively to list your site. Spamming was considered when you would "stuff" your meta-tags with keywords that were not exactly tied to the main theme of your site. In the beginning there was not penalty for this but now you will be penalized by Google for doing this.

Also internet marketers would use text in the back ground of the site that was the same color as the background of the screen to hide text and make the search engines read it as if they had massive content on their site. If you do this today you will be penalized by google and possibly banned.

This is considered spamming.

Google uses computers vs. Human beings to check the continuity of sites before placing in their search engine pool unlike dmoz and yahoo directory. Therefore they write algorithms that will trigger signs when you are spamming, there computers automatically will put you in what is called a sandbox if certain flags are triggered. You must make sure that even if you are not spamming that you do not make trip any of the traps that google has set up for spammers.

If you do it could cost you six months of not being listed in their engines or could result in lower search engine rankings over the next six months.

How do I Get Out Of the Sandbox

There is no way to get out of the Google sandbox except by waiting during that time you or your company will have to pay for paid advertising on Google to get the results that you are looking for until your orgranic results return. While you are waiting you will need to continue optimizing your site. This is the best time for you to get more links to your site and write massive articles.

If you optimize your site while you are in the sandbox when you come out your site will be in a very good position. Do not get discouraged if you are sandboxed it happens to the best take advantage of that time by increasing your links and articles on other sites.

Website Content Tutorial

In concluding this portion of the tutorial you must understand to make sure that the website content that you add and the articles that you write are properly optimized and make sure that you utilize the proper tags in your links and images that allow the search engines to read your site without "thinking" that your are trying to spam the web.

This can seem like a daunting task and in the beginning it is, but as you begin more and more to understand how search engines think then it is easier for you to begin to understand why you are writing your content and your articles the way that you do.

Blog Site Content

If you are hosting a blogsite and not a website then you also will utilize the same process for website content the only difference is depending on the author of the program that handles your blogsite you are going to have to abide by their rules.

For instance if your blog site is on a wordpress platform you are going to have to know the what wordpress blogs will and will not allow, unless you are a decent php programmer. That is beyond the scope of this tutorial and therefore we will not go into programming in this tutorial.

There are many companies that host blogs, such as Blogger.com , Wordpress, b2evolution, etc...
Each one has it\'s own methods. Therefore you need to make sure you have a good understanding of the various settings for your blog platform and what each setting means. It could mean the difference between your links being followed by the search engines and not being followed by the search engines. Could also mean whether your visitors will be able to find value in commenting on your site or not.

There are many factors to consider when dealing with these settings, but the main ones that you are going to have to consider are the SEO portions of these platforms.

If you have not done so you need to read the portion of this tutorial titled Website Content

First you need to find out what part of the blog posting represents the header. Is the header the title of your blog or is the Title the name of the actual post. You can easily find this out by going to the home page of your blog and looking at the top bar in your browser. Whatever that top bar says is the title. Then go in and change the name of blog if necessary to see if that is the title. If the top bar on your browser changes that means that the title of your blog is the name of your entire blog.

Some blog platforms are based on the title of the overall blog for the title tags <xmp>

</xmp> and some consider the individual blog posts as that title of the each page. If that is the case then each page will have it\'s own title.

Once you learn how to change the title then you change it to the main marketing theme of your website, if for any reason you cannot change your blogsite title then you need to move your blogsite to another platform. If you have utilized that platform for years it might be that you just need to update your blogsite. One of our representatives are willing to help your company with that upgrade or transition.

The title tags is one of the most important tags next to your url and could even be more important than your url depending on which platform that your blogsite is on.

The main theme of your blog is very important to maintain and because you will more than likely have comments on your site from your visitors you need to make sure that their reponses are relating to the topic.

You must have posting rules on your blog specifying posters of comments and/or replies to your site must post according to the subject that is being posted. Most individuals do this naturally however if you have someone that tries to spam your blog, you need to have a fair reason to remove that individual from posting to guard the continuity and reputation of your site.

Alt tags

You need to make sure that you are able to put alt tags in your images. Just like making articles and website content your blogsite photos need to have Alt tags. Make sure that on each post you have at least 3 photos and no more than seven photos with alt tags with your main theme keyword in it.

Links

In your actual blog posts you are going to want to have follow links to internal pages of your blog and nofollow links to external pages of your blog. Again this is so the search engines will follow your webpages in your blog and not follow your webpages outside of your blog in your actual posts. Your blog posts should be articles. Therefore you need to follow the instructions in the article portion of this tutorial when designing content for your blog.

Your blog content should be written so you can submit that article to other blogs in your industry and also on article sites throughout the internet. Utilizing the follow and nofollow tag instructions that were given in the Article portion of this tutorial.

The other portion of your site, as far as links are concerened, that you must deal with are the replies and comments from your visitors. If you do this properly then you can really increase your hits.

We believe in the reap what you sow and do unto others as you do unto yourself concept. Therefore we suggest that you allow follow links in your comments.

This accomplishes two very important tasks for you automatically. First of all it provides changing content to your site on a daily basis without you having to do any work. Secondly it also gives you the potential for inbound links (the importance of which we will deal with in the section of this tutorial entitled Pagerank). Most internet article writers understand the importance of follow links. If you allow them you will attract some of the best internet article writers when writing in your field. There are a few other factors that they will consider as well but that is one you do not have to worry about once your blog is set up properly.

Those that use follow links in their comments are also going to link your site to their site because they want others to go and read their article and they are trying to increase the number of links on their site. This is a reap what you sow concept because as you give to them they will give to you.

You must make sure though that on your blogsites home page and any other very important page that you are directly listing with the search engines do not allow follow links. On those pages you only allow the follow links that you want listed with the search engines. On the other pages of your blogsite you want to allow follow links. The easiest way to accomplish this is on our homepage of your blog you do not allow comments or replies it is more like a directory to the subjects on the blogsite.

Types of Blogs

There are many different types of blogs these range from personal blogs to corporate blogs. Even though personal blogs are by name seem to be blogs that you would not market this is not always the case. Twitter would be considered a personal blog and many companies use these personal blogs for marketing purposes, which we will go into detail in the social networking portion of this tutorial.

The following are a list of some of the most common types of blogs and those which are most relevant to this tutorial:

political blogs

fashion blogs

travel blogs

project blogs

educational blogs

niche blogs

music blogs

art blogs

family blogs

informational blogs

news blogs

marketing blogs

Political Blogs

Political blogs are blogs that deal strickly and loosely with politics and how individuals feel about the politics in their country or the world.

Project Blogs

Blogs that deal with a specific project. A good example of a project blog would be a an opensource software blog, like the blog for oscommerce. These blogs are designed to as instruction manuals and help desks to questions related to their product and allows visitors to help one another in figuring out different ways to utilize their opensource software.

As the company develops plugins for their products that they sell, they offer those products to their clients and as their product moves past alpha and beta stage they let their clients know through their blogs. This is a very effective way to market new products and services because as they ad commercial plugins to their site it is found as an answer to their users problems.

For instance if your company uses an opensource program such as oscommerce and you need to add keywords to your shopping cart, but you cannot find where to add the keywords in oscommerce and you do not feel like writing a php script to allow you to do so. You would then go to the oscommerce site which is basically a blogsite. Once you get there you search: how to add keywords to my shopping cart The results that you would receive would be other individuals responding to the same question and the company would provide a commercial plugin that you would buy for a low price that would allow you to do so.

You would then have the three options:

Switch your shopping cart to a new opensource program

Write a php script that handles adding keywords

Purchase the plugin for about 20 bucks

The majority of people will go with the third option.

Note:This is just an example and does not represent true oscommerce content on their blog nor is it intended to infer that the free version of oscommerce does not allow keywords

This type of marketing is very good for project oriented blogsites. Also most individuals that come to these sites want to have a signature and have websites of their own that they want to market. Allow them to do so and you will have knowledgeable individuals in your field adding valueable content to your site on a daily basis the other advantage is that many of your visitors will begin to help others figure our problems they are having with your project and they begin to become involved in the problem solving.

These individuals develop a reputation on your blogsite and they will post to your site regularly and will help other free of charge to them or you.

The basic trade is that you allow them to post comments and links to their website, blogsite, or articles, and also allow them to have a signature with their website, blogsite, or article posting/s in them.
Remember seed time and harvest.

Educational Blogs

Educational blogs are blogs that are attached to schools which have a .edu attached to them. These blogs usually do not allow comments however if you have an opportunity for your blogsite\'s base portion of the blog to be www.schoolname.edu/yourblog then you have a rare opportunity to be considered an "Expert site". If you have an opportunity to do this and to allow others to post articles and comments on your site and you allow follow links in their comments, replies and/or articles you are going to see many individuals that want to post to your blog.

When you allow others to post to your blog and you are an "Expert Site" then their site, if optimized correctly, becomes an authoritative site. This helps your visitors search engine rankings tremendously so you want to keep that option available to them. You do not have to advertise the fact that you are an expert site those that have marketing knowledge will know that and they will be happy to comment on your site and post articles.

Do not confuse an educational blog or blogsite with an informational blog or blogsite.

You might ask what is the difference between the two. An educational blogsite can have many differnt functions for instance. The purpose of an educational blog could be to discuss the difference between two theories. Even though this is not teaching a course it is used in order to discuss something on an educational website such as a library or college website.

An informational blogsite is dealing with giving you information that you can use. More as a how to or teaching blog. Therefore educational blogsites can have many different purposes where an informational blogsite usually is a how to or teaching website.

For instance an educational blogsite could be the offical college football team's blog, which has nothing to do with educating you from the practical sense of the word. However this would still be considered an educational blogsite because it is attached to an educational website, making it an Expert Site.

Informational Blogsite

An informational blog or blogsite is a blog or site that offers information and instructions (How To\'s). All sites provide informationn but these sites are designed to only share information on a certain topic. Informational blogsites are not designed to sell products and the people that are looking for the information are usually not looking to purchase products at that time.

The way to utilize the power of this type of blog is to have another website that you promote in that expertise. In your articles, utilizing the link sprinkling method we spoke of earlier, link those articles to your site. The reader then thinks that these are products that you use, which if it is your products you should use them on a regular basis, and as they read your articles they trust your opinion. You could even do product reviews and so forth giving them information on different product and stating that you find that your product is one of the best, listing it with other competition.

This is a very effective way to utilize the power of an informational site. You definitely want others to be able to post comments on your site as well as articles, and you also want to allow advertisers on an informational site, because you are going to attract a niche market.

Most blogs that are attached to product or service websites are informational blogs. They are giving information about a product or service or are teaching individuals how to do one thing or another.

News Blogs

When news blogs were first invented they were an excellent marketing tool and today they still are. The marketing for them has changed though because of the new search engine rules. Remember at first you just needed content and keywords and the search engines would give you a high ranking. What better way to get daily content than from news sources?

Now there is a lot more to it than before, instead of just content you need proper links in the text. So just posting an article does not do it anymore. You need inbound links and so forth.

So with news blogsite it is very important to allow individuals to reply and allow outside writers write articles on your site. The news blog gives you many opportunities for outbound links but the weakness is obtaining strong inbound links. The best strength and opportunity for a news blog or blogsite is getting as many people to the site as possible and selling advertising.

It is very difficult to get an authortative news company to link to your site. Unless you have a show on their site. If you are in this position with CNN or one of the other large news broadcasters then you really need to consider starting a news blogsite related to your show and topic. Twitter and Facebook are excellent sources as well if you are in this position. There are many opportunities that are available to you if you are in this position please contact one of our reps at orders@blogsite-marketing.info

Marketing Blogs

There are many companies that make blogs strictly for marketing other sites that they have as illustrated in the information blogsite. Also their are blogs that are designed to increase the pagerank of their other sites.

If you are designing a blog or blogsite for the pure intent of increasing your sites ranking then you need to make sure that you allow follow links in posts and articles.

You also need to make sure that for each type of site that you have built that you have a strong section for each niche of your site.

For instance you have a site on graphic design and you have a site on computer programming. There needs to be two separate categories for each and each category needs to have a lot of content as if they were their own blogsite.

The key to this is that you want to make sure that you post comments and articles for your other sites on sites that are comparable to those sites. In other words you do not want to post music articles on a computer programming blog site.

The above comparison shows a wide difference in markets, however for a search engine posting a graphic design post on a computer programming website is just as blatent. Therefore you want to post on sites or in sections that deal specifically with your niche.

Decide
You have to decide which category your blog or blogsite falls into.

Marketing a political blog is going to be much different than a music blog or even a news blog.

For instance most people that respond to a political blog are either individuals that work for the government and/or individuals that have a positive or negative opinion of the government.

Political blog purpose is going to test the pulse of the people. Therefore you are not looking for individuals to write comments and post articles to your blog to get others to come visit their site. You will on a rare occasion but usual those that respond are government officials and the lay person.

On the other hand a news blog is going to have individuals commenting on them and posting articles to lead you back to their site. This is very good because if you are able to effectively increase your search engine rankings these writers will also post your site on their site and tell more individuals about your blog or blogsite.

This is what you want because it will increase the number of inbound links to your site.

If you have a news site you definitely want to make sure that follow links are allowed in the comments section of your site as well as in areas where you allow a visitor to submit an article.

Responsibility

Original post blogged on b2evolution.
